The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation (WJTNF) has been incredibly fortunate to form a long lasting partnership with Ranger Insurance, and specifically the Ranger Insurance Golf Tournament. 15 years ago, Kevin Neiles, President and CEO of Ranger Insurance, as well as Vice-Chair of the WJTNF Board of Directors, wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way. He organized the Ranger Insurance Golf Tournament and selected the WJTNF (previously the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation) as beneficiary to the tournament. Well over half a million dollars has been raised to support various youth based programs, as well as the WJTNF’s programs- Project 11, the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy and Camp Manitou.

For the past few years, the Ranger Insurance Golf Tournament has been hosted at the Southwood Golf Course in St. Norbert MB. The tournament is always a highlight for participants with the various holes featuring food & drink, games and prizes. Foursomes are also encouraged to bring unwrapped toys and books to be donated to the Christmas Cheer board. The day is capped off with a dinner and in recent years it has been hosted by Sarah Orlesky and included Mark Stuart, Chris Thorburn and Mark Chipman.

The 2015 tournament raised $75,000 in support of Project 11, an in-school program for grades 5-8 on positive mental health coping strategies.

The Ranger Insurance Golf Tournament is set for September of 2016. Thank you for welcoming the WJTNF into your Ranger Insurance Family!
