Derek Meech

Transportation & Logistics Manager

Derek Meech brings a wealth of hockey experience to his role as Transportation & Logistics Manager for the TNYF. He played junior hockey with the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL, winning a Memorial Cup with the team in 2001, and won a silver medal while representing Canada at the 2004 World Junior Hockey Championship. Meech’s NHL career saw him play with the Detroit Red Wings – where he won a Stanley Cup in 2008 – and the Winnipeg Jets, and he spent time in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins, St. John’s IceCaps and Texas Stars – where he won a Calder Cup in 2014 – and also played in European professional leagues. Prior to his current role, Meech worked with the Manitoba Moose as their Team Services Coordinator and Colour Commentator for one season.
