Located 5 minutes outside of Winnipeg along the Assiniboine River, Camp Manitou is a recent addition to the Foundation’s programming roster. With a focus on outdoor programming and wilderness education, Camp Manitou operates with the goal of providing accessible and meaningful camp experiences to Manitoba children, youth and community groups. Camp Manitou provides a wide range of activities, challenging educational programming, and the perfect environment to step out of the everyday and connect with nature.

The Foundation has been making a significant investment in upgrades to our facilities in an effort to enhance the outdoor experience at Camp Manitou. Exciting capital improvements to the facility have resulted in a new zip line, upgraded archery range, bouldering wall and climbing wall which be available for our 2016 summer campers.

The camp’s winter program has received a boost with the addition of a toboggan slide and an outdoor rink that is now home to broomball and street hockey. Plans are in place to add a Zamboni and dressing rooms in order to have outdoor ice for the winter of 2016-17. This summer, the rink will be used for lacrosse, tennis, ball hockey and other activities.

The main lodge is receiving a facelift, with the roof and siding undergoing replacement. Construction on a number of cabins beginning this spring will greatly expand overnight capacity, once complete.

Lastly, the camp has just re-launched a brand new website at CampManitou.mb.ca which will greatly enhance user experience for new and returning campers alike.
